During the Washington County Commissioner’s Court meeting, June 2, 2020, Mr. Edward A. Smith, Chairman of the Board, President & CEO of Chappell Hill Bank, on behalf of the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce presented a check in the amount of $3,500 to the Emergency Medical Services (“EMS”) of Washington County. This contribution represents the financial commitment to the EMS by the Chappell Hill community through the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce. The establishment of the Chappell Hill EMS began in April, 2015 championed by Edward A. Smith and Roger Imm, a Chappell Hill resident, actively pursuing an agreement with Washington County to expand emergency medical services to Chappell Hill with an advanced community paramedic (“ACP”). The result of this effort resulted in the EMS paramedic unit being housed in the Chappell Hill Fire Station directly across from Chappell Hill Bank in downtown Chappell Hill.
